EXCLUSIVE: Esperance Fail To Meet Kayode's Wage Demand, Striker Rejects Four - Year Contract
Published: August 11, 2013
Nigeria youth international Olarenwaju Kayode has been denied a dream move to Esperance after he failed to agree financial terms with the 25 - time Tunisia champions.
The Flying Eagles attacker has been inactive for more than a year since his loan deal expired with Swiss Super League side FC Lucerne.
However, Kayode's imperious displays at the Fifa Under 20 World Cup held in Turkey means it is just a matter of time before he finds a new employer.
'' Esperance offered me a four - year contract. But they could not pay my wages so I had to return. I can confirm I am no longer signing for them.
'' So many clubs are after me now. I have to think about it very well before I know my next step,'' says Olarenwaju Kayode to allnigeriasoccer.com.
This summer, the 20 - year - old was courted by Beitar Jerusalem but rejected the overtures of the Israeli Premier League team.
Before then he tested with Etoile Sahel (Tunisia), Charlton Athletic (England) and Dinamo Minsk (Belarus) but nothing came out of the trials.
