Napoli Chase Chelsea Midfielder Obi Mikel
Published: August 15, 2013
As reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com, Nigeria international midfielder John Mikel Obi is wanted by his former boss Rafa Benitez.
Benitez, the new gaffer of Napoli, is interested in the 26 - year - old Chelsea ace.
But the stumbling block is the player's annual wage thought to be around 3 millions euros net.
Obi Mikel is not guaranteed a first team shirt at Chelsea , and won't mind ending his seven - year collaboration with the Londoners.
Galatasaray were poised to sign the former Lyon Oslo man this summer, but could not meet his valuation and have abandoned the chase.
Under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2017, Mikel is valued in the region of 20 million euros by transfer market experts.
