Peter Utaka Nets First Goal For Beijing Guoan
Published: August 19, 2013
Since Peter Utaka's switch to Beijing Guoan from Dalian Aerbin, he has come under tremendous pressure from the supporters and technical crew to justify his two million euros price tag.
Indeed, in his first three games in the Super League for the capital club - against Wuhan Zall, Jiangsu Sainty and Shanghai Shenxin - he fired blanks.
But that unwelcome statistic was thrown into the trash can on Sunday after Peter Utaka's 81st minute strike prevented Beijing Guoan from defeat in the 21st round of matches in the championship against Guizhou Renhe (1 - 1).
"I regret not able to get three points, but I think I will play better, to help Beijing Guoan to obtain yet another victory,'' Beijing Times quoted Peter Utaka as saying.
Peter Utaka has so far notched up 8 goals in 18 matches in the championship.
