Red Star Belgrade Go For Sunday Mba, Fegor Ogude
Published: August 19, 2013
According to influential Serbian sports website, sportal.rs, Red Star Belgrade are in the market for reinforcement in midfield and have beamed their searchlight on two Nigeria internationals - Enugu Rangers' Sunday Mba and Fegor Ogude of Vålerenga.
Sports Director of the 1991 European champions, Zoran Stojadinovic hopes to conclude the signing of one of the two players before the end of August.
After February's African Cup of Nations, Sunday Mba, 24 , was linked with FC Karpaty (Ukraine) and Romania big spenders CFR Cluj but the ownership tussle between Enugu Rangers and Warri Wolves threw the spanner in the works.
On the other hand, this summer, Fegor Ogude has been courted by Real Betis and Sporting Lisbon.
However, according to the player's agent Atta Aneke, none of the clubs have backed up their interest with an official bid to Vålerenga.
Last month, Red Star launched a bid of 200,000 euros for another Nigeria international Azubuike Egwuekwe.
But it was well short of the center back's valuation of around 350,000 euros, so Warri Wolves turned down their proposal.
