Sporting Braga Eager To Sell Elderson Echiejile
Published: August 24, 2013
In principle, Sporting Braga are desperate to sell Nigeria international Elderson Echiejile before the close of the transfer window.
The League Cup winners want to recoup some of their previous investments on the full back, with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.
Manager Jesualdo Ferreira omitted Elderson from the list of players eligible to participate in the Europa League play - off round. In addition, the Super Eagle was missing in the 2 - 0 away win over Paços de Ferreira.
Transfer market experts will tell you that the club do not want to risk their Nigerian import by fielding him in matches in order to avoid injuries and pull the plug on a potential transfer.
Portuguese sports daily A Bola reported earlier in the week that Besiktas are still interested in Echiejile.
However, that perceived interest has not been backed up with an official bid to The Archbishops.
