Fanendo Adi : My Debut Goal Gave Me confidence
Published: August 25, 2013
Fanendo Adi is disappointed that despite scoring on his league debut for FC Copenhagen, the club failed to secure maximum points.
The 22 - year - old Nigerian striker struck after only six minutes through a header against FC Vestsjælland but they finally settled for a 1 - 1 draw.
'' As a striker to play to help the team, and one should always give everything. To have scored the first goal, gave me confidence.
'' But a goal is nothing personal, it is all about the team, because without my teammates, I would not have scored. I am happy with my debut, but annoyed that we did not win,'' bold.dk quoted Adi as saying.
The attacker also asked supporters to be patient with Ståle Solbakken, the new manager of FC Copenhagen.
'' He's been here for three days, so it is too early to expect miracles. We played as a team, especially in the first half, but after the break we made a few errors. I do think that you could see that we can create a strong FCK team over time. ''
The goal was Adi's 11th in 8 games this season. He scored the first ten goals in his former club Trencin.
