Before the close of the summer transfer market, Cypriot Premier League club AC Omonia announced the signing of former Nigeria Under 20 international Ganiu Ogungbe from Kwara United.
The duration and financial terms of the contract have not been disclosed by the 20 - time champions of Cyprus.
In his first words after the transfer was completed, an excited Ganiu Ogungbe told the official website of AC Omonia : '' Everyone in the group is friendly, especially coaches and my teammates.
'' They have made me feel at home. I feel that I am a long time here.
'' Seeing how qualitative and professional Omonia team is, I think I have made the best choice.
'' I will give my best to make you proud!''
Having represented Nigeria youth teams in international competitions, the defender reckons that this experience would be beneficial to AC Omonia.
'' This is the first time I come to Europe to play football, but the fact that I won the African Cup with the U20 national team of my country and the recent call up for the home based team, I have valuable experiences.
'' I've played at a high level, which will certainly help the new start of my career,'' adds Ogungbe.
Ganiu Ogungbe, who has started training with his new teammates, has been handed the number 25 shirt for this season.
