Gbenga Arokoyo Advices Oboabona, Egwuekwe
Published: September 07, 2013
Mjallby AIF central defender Gbenga Arokoyo has shared his thoughts and impressions on the World Cup qualifying fixture between Nigeria and Malawi billed to hold at U.J Eusene Stadium in Calabar.
Unlike recent qualification for the Mundial - for example 2002 and 2010 - the Eagles are not under any pressure today and even a draw against the Flames would see them qualify for the final qualification round, where 10 teams will compete for Africa's 5 World Cup slots.
'' I am expecting a victory. The World Cup is important for everybody so the team should no take anything for granted.
'' The defenders - especially the center backs - should remain focused throughout the 90 minutes.
'' They should communicate with each other and avoid conceding an early goal as this would boost the morale of the opposition,'' Arokoyo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
20 - year - old Gbenga Arokoyo made the bench for the Super Eagles in their friendly against Angola in January 2012.
