Kehinde Olanrewaju Plays Down Yakubu Aiyegbeni Comparison
Published: September 07, 2013
Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan youngster Kehinde Olanrewaju has played down suggestions that he plays in the same way as former Maccabi Haifa hit-man Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
The 19 - year - old attacker was a big hit for the Reserve Team of Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, netting 10 goals for the Under 19 squad.
The Yellows promptly offered Olanrewaju a permanent contract this summer , but he was almost immediately farmed out on loan to Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan to continue his development.
'' Yakubu? Wow, to be like him, I wish. He is a great player, I love it and I wish I would have a career like his.
'' But to be real, I want to create my own way and not be like someone but as myself.
'' I want to create a name for myself, to young players in Nigeria say what I say now about Yakubu. They will say, 'I want to be like Kehinde,'' says Kehinde to one.co.il.
