Fifa Ranking : Eagles Know Likely Play - Off Opponents

On Thursday , Football's governing body, Fifa released its monthly ranking of National Teams.
The Super Eagles are now ranked in the 36th position, meaning they fell one place from their position when the ranking was last released.
Nigeria, who are the 4th best team in Africa, improved in the continental ranking and that means the country will be seeded when the African World Cup qualification play-off draw is conducted on September 16.
Based on the September ranking, the Eagles could meet Egypt (8th in Africa), Burkina Faso (9th), Cameroon (10th), Senegal (11th) or Ethiopia ( 25th) in the next stage of qualifiers.
The next Fifa Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com on October 17 , 2013.
