Referee Admits Mistake In Sending Off Izunna Uzochukwu
Published: October 07, 2013
Referee Dennis Mogensen has confessed that he made a mistake in his dismissal of Izunna Uzochukwu in the league match between FC Midtjylland and Vestsjælland on Monday evening.
Uzochukwu was first cautioned in the 61st minute and 7 minutes later took the walk of shame .
But the referee has now reviewed the incident on television and has admitted he made an error in his judgement.
Bold.dk with reference to TV3 quoted Mogensen as saying: “There are plenty of good spots and I must admit that I do not see the offense underlying the yellow card.
“It was too hard and he would not have had a second yellow card. ”
FCM were leading 2 - 0 before Izunna Uzochukwu was sent off, but an own goal from Sviatchenko and an injury time strike by Sørensen secured a point for FCV.
