Izunna Uzochukwu Update: FC Midtjylland Want Red Card Cancelled
Published: October 09, 2013
FC Midtjylland midfielder Izunna Uzochukwu was dismissed on Monday in the Super League clash against FC Vestsjællands.
After the game, referee Dennis Mogensen admitted to have seen television replays and the second yellow card issued Izunna which led to his sending off was not justified.
It is now expected that FCM will appeal to the Danish Federation to revoke the player’s red card.
“We have had a dialogue with DBU, and they take it probably Thursday to the Disciplinary Committee.
“Compared to normal precedent in such cases where the judge even report the error, we expect that the corresponding points for the yellow-red will be deleted,” says head coach Glen Riddersholm to bold.dk.
Meanwhile, Nigeria international Femi Ajilore is still expected to train with the Jutland club for about a month and could be offered a contract if he proves his match fitness.
