Bright Dike Wants Starting Shirt
Published: October 14, 2013
Since his switch from Portland Timbers last month, Nigeria international Bright Dike has been named in the starting lineup by Toronto head coach Ryan Nelsen three times.
Now, there is speculation that Toronto are in the market for two additional strikers ahead of the start of the 2014 campaign, meaning Bright Dike could be used as an impact substitute.
But Dike wants an extended spell in the first team, though he will not challenge the decision of the technical bench.
“I don’t think you are a professional if you say that you don’t want to start.
“As a professional, I want to start as many games as possible.
“But whatever role Ryan has in mind for me, I’m going to work my hardest to claim that role and really just give my best effort and make myself a regular as much as possible,” Bright Dike, who has an appearance for the Super Eagles, told mlssoccer.com.
