Published: October 24, 2013
Nigeria gaffer Stephen Keshi has strongly hinted to the press in Greece that he would hand an invitation to Panathinaikos midfielder Abdul Ajagun if he continues churning out fine performances for his club.
It would be recalled that the Flying Eagles attacking midfielder, who put himself in the shop window at the Fifa Under 20 World Cup held in Turkey this summer, penned a four - year deal with the Greens in August.
Speaking to authoritative Greek website, gazzetta.gr, Stephen Keshi said: “Ajagun is one of the best talents in Nigeria at this time.
“His transfer to a big team such as Panathinaikos is a proof that this player can achieve a lot in his career.
“I believe that his arrival in Europe, his professionalism and all the things that he would gain at this level, will improve him and make him a better and more complete player.”
Adding to his previous statement, Stephen Keshi said:
“He is one of the biggest talents in Nigeria and it’s normal to keep an eye on him and his progress.
“I know he has made a good start in his new team and if he continues playing good, then yes, he will have a chance taking a
place in the National Team of Nigeria. Everything depends on him.”
