Golden Eaglets Book Semi - Final Ticket

Goals in each half by Taiwo Awoniyi gave the Golden Eaglets a 2 - 0 victory over Uruguay at Sharjah Stadium Shajah City, United Arab Emirates on Saturday night in the quarter - final of the Fifa Under 17s.

Nigeria won the game because of their attacking prowess and executed their chances with precision unlike their counterparts from South America.

A pass from attacking midfielder Kelechi Iheanacho in the 18th minute left  Taiwo Awoniyi in a scoring position and he fired past goalkeeper Thiago Cardozo.

1 - 0 down, Uruguay fought back and threw men into the attack which left spaces for Nigeria to exploit.

The lethal Nigerian attack produced another goal in the 79th minute through Taiwo Awoniyi., which sealed a 2 - 0 win for the three - time World champions.

Next for Manu Garba and his charges is a semi-final date with one of the revelations of the tournament Sweden. 

The match will be on November 5 in Dubai.
