Manu Garba Predicts Difficult Final
Published: November 06, 2013
Golden Eaglets manager Manu Garba has predicted a tough final when his charges clash with Mexico in the final of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup on Friday, November 8.
Nigeria booked their ticket to the last match of the competition after defeating Sweden 3 - 0 on Tuesday evening in Dubai.
“I still maintained that the Mexican team are a very technical team and we can see their resilience by coming from a 6-1 loss to us (Nigeria) and still be in the final.
“We are not going to be on any pressure against Mexico in the final because we would prepare mentally, physically and psychologically for the final,”he told reporters.
Adding to his previous statement, Manu Garba said:
“The Mexican team I maintained are at very technical team and I believe the final is going to be a great one but by the grace of God, we shall win this trophy for Nigeria and Africa.”
The Golden Eaglets have scored 23 goals so far in the competition and should they score two more in the final, the team will overtake Germany, who set the benchmark of 24 goals in the 2011 edition.
