Joseph Okonkwo Explains Why He Signed For Fgura United
Published: November 12, 2013Former Pepsi Academy striker Joseph Okonkwo has lifted the lid on his move to Fgura United in the summer transfer market.
The addition of Okonkwo has boosted the confidence in the squad and the Southern Malta side is targeting promotion at the end of the 2013 - 2014 season.
“I had offers from clubs in the Premier League but the wages I am receiving here can not be matched elsewhere. That is why I came here.
“The club wants promotion and so far we are second in the league. We are still unbeaten,”Joseph Okonkwo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 27 - year - old is the leading marksman in the division, with 7 goals in 8 matches.
He previously donned the colors of Mqabba, Floriana, Valletta and Dingli Swallows.
