Stephen Keshi Confirms Starting Lineup
Published: November 16, 2013
Manager Stephen Keshi has named his starting lineup for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia in Calabar, the final match in the qualification round.
The unavailability of Real Betis midfielder Nosa Igiebor and the return of Chelsea youngster Kenneth Omeruo means there are personnel changes in defense, midfield and attack although the coach will stick to his 4 - 3 - 3 formation.
Stand - in skipper Vincent Enyeama retains his place in goal while Oboabona, Omeruo, Ambrose and Echiejile have the green-light to man the defense.
Victor Moses has been favored to start in midfield ahead of Reuben Gabriel and Sunday Mba. He is supported in the center by two stalwarts - Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel and Eddy Onazi of Lazio.
Nigeria’s attacking threat will come from Emmanuel Emenike, Brown Ideye and Ahmed Musa.
Confirmed Starting Eleven
Enyeama; Ambrose, Oboabona, Omeruo, Echiejile; Mikel, Onazi, Moses; Ideye, Emenike and Musa
