Stephen Keshi Makes Changes To Starting Eleven
Published: November 18, 2013
Nigeria gaffer Stephen Keshi has made blanket changes to his starting lineup for the exhibition match with Italy in London on Monday evening.
Compared to the starting eleven which defeated Ethiopia on Saturday, there are personnel changes in all the departments - goalkeeper, defense, midfield and attack.
Hapoel Beer Sheva numero uno Austin Ejide will start in goal and he is one of the seven changes made by Stephen Keshi.
Celtic defender Efe Ambrose, Elderson Echiejile (Sporting Braga) and Kenneth Omeruo drop to the bench.
Nigerian Premier League trio Solomon Kwambe, Benjamin Francis and Azubuike Egwuekwe are paired in defense alongside Godfrey Oboabona, whose status as a home based player changed just three months back .
Mikel Obi, Eddy Onazi plus Nnamdi Oduamadi start in midfield, a move which means Sunday Mba and Reuben Gabriel will be on the substitutes bench when the game kicks off 2045 hours.
Two English Premier League stars - Victor Moses of Liverpool and evergreen Shola Ameobi (Newcastle United) - and Bright Dike start upfront for the African champions.
