Lars Lagerback : We Have Nothing To Lose
Published: November 19, 2013
Former Nigeria manager Lars Lagerback , now the coach of the tiny European country Iceland, has commented on his team’s chances of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
Going into Tuesday’s tie at Stadion Maksimir, Lagerback and his charges have nothing to lose, having played a goalless draw when both countries met last Friday.
“Croatia is certainly one of the best teams in the world. With us there is no euphoria, but we have nothing to lose and for us all is a win-win situation.
“My players have great character. We have only lost one match in the World Cup qualifiers and it means something,” Lagerback said at a press conference.
Due to an ankle complaint, Ajax Amsterdam attacker Kolbeinn Sigþórsson will miss the match.
