Vincent Enyeama 322 Minutes Away From Rewriting Ligue 1 Statistics
Published: November 26, 2013
Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was named the best player in Ligue 1 for the month of October.
Before Lille traded tackles with Toulouse on Sunday, the Nigeria international was officially presented with the award.
“As you could see, it was not a great match. But we have once again demonstrated defensive solidity and I had the chance to make the decisions that needed to stay ahead in the score.
“This is just my contribution to the team and thank God, it continues. I do not focus on statistics or clean sheets which are linked.
“I’m just happy to play and I enjoy every moment,” Vincent Enyeama told reporters after the 1 - 0 win over Toulouse.
The ex Enyimba, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv numero uno has had a run of 855 minutes without conceding a goal in Ligue 1.
Should the 31 - year - old maintain his form, he is 3 matches and 52 minutes away from bettering the French record of retired Bordeaux goalkeeper Gaëtan Huard, who did not concede in 13 consecutive matches.
