Nigeria Federation To Pocket At Least 8 Million Dollars From World Cup Prize Money

The Nigeria Football Federation will pocket at least 8 million dollars being their share of prize money from the Super Eagles participation at the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
Fifa announced on Thursday that the winner of the tournament next summer will receive $35 million while the other finalist will take home $25 million.
The third placed team will pocket $22 million while the country that finishes fourth will receive $20 million.
All the quarter-finalists are guaranteed the sum of $14 million, teams that qualify for the round of 16 get $9 million while group participants who fail to progress to the knock out rounds will receive $8 million.
The prize money of the World Cup has been increased from $420 million it was in 2010 to a figure of $576 million.
