Published: January 15, 2014
According to leaks gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com’s editorial staff, Mjällby have turned down two undisclosed bids from Kalmar and Lille for Nigeria international Gbenga Arokoyo as none of the clubs met his valuation.
Gbenga Arokoyo has been linked with several clubs in Sweden, Italy, Holland and France in the January transfer window.
However, Mjallby have no plans to sell the Nigerian except a team comes with an offer too good to refuse.
High level discussions are ongoing between Mjallby and the interested suitors and an announcement on whether they will sell the central defender is expected to be made next week.
Gbenga Arokoyo’s position is clear. His priority is to join a team in continental Europe and perhaps sneak into the Super Eagles World Cup roster.
The 21 - year - old stopper comes off contract in November 2014.
