Joseph Yobo Relishing Yaya Toure Contest
Published: February 08, 2014
Norwich City central defender Joseph Yobo is relishing the confrontation with African Footballer of the Year and Ivory Coast star Yaya Toure ahead of the meeting with Manchester City on Saturday in the English Premier League.
Without question , the Nigeria international was one of the steals of the winter transfer market , penning a short - term loan deal the Canaries which keeps him at Carrow Road until June 30 , 2014.
“He is probably one of the best in the world. Very, very good.
“He is a powerful midfielder and it is a credit to him how his career has developed.
“For what he has done since he came to the Premier League he deserves that sort of recognition,” Joseph Yobo stated.
The Nigeria captain has not featured in the Premier League for close to four years, with his last appearance coming against Stoke City on May 1, 2010 while defending the colors of Everton.
