Nosa Igiebor Omitted From Squad To Face Rubin Kazan

Nosa Igiebor has been omitted by Real Betis manager Gabriel Calderon from the list of players summoned for the Europa League fixture against Rubin Kazan on Thursday.

The Nigeria international is suffering from an  internal parameniscitis in his left knee and has failed to make the trip to Russia.

Despite making himself available for selection, club medics have decided he can not withstand the rigors of the Rubin Kazan Stadium, which is an synthetic pitch.

The 23 - year - old has made five appearances in the competition this season and made the starting lineup for the first leg tie against the Russians on February 20.

Real Betis have a mountain to climb if they are to qualify for the last 16, having played a 1 - 1 draw with Rubin Kazan in Sevilla.

Englishman Michael Oliver , 29, has been appointed by UEFA to officiate the tie.
