Stephen Keshi To Run The Rule Over Uchebo, Balogun And Others
Published: March 05, 2014
Stephen Keshi has stated that he would use the friendly against Mexico on Wednesday to run the rule over some players expected to break into the World Cup squad if they show brilliance.
While no names were mentioned, perhaps, the likes of Juwon Oshaniwa, Michael Uchebo, Ramon Azeez, Imoh Ezekiel and Leon Balogun have a final opportunity to impress the Nigeria manager and be on the plane to Brazil this summer.
“I’m on the look out for some players, giving them the opportunity to play and see if they can give us something good, and of course, win the game, be on the same page for the World Cup, so this is a good meeting,” Stephen Keshi said at a press conference.
Both continental powerhouses played an entertaining 2 - 2 draw last summer in the United States, but Keshi reckons that tonight’s tie will be a totally different ball game.
“It will be different because Mexico is a different team,” Keshi adds.
When quizzed on his poor relationship with the Nigeria Federation, the Eagles manager stated that he might be fired should he fail to get a good result against Mexico.
