Published: March 06, 2014
The German born defender, a late replacement for crocked Joseph Yobo, was introduced by manager Stephen Keshi before the start of the second half .
But he had to make way for Warri Wolves skipper Azubuike Egwuekwe in the 66th minute due to an injury he picked up after hitting the advertising board.
Initial prognosis suggests that the 25 - year - old will be out of action for between eight to twelve weeks.
“Leon Balogun has suffered a broken ankle. His leg is already in a cast. He had an excellent debut and the coaches rate him highly too,” Deji Tinubu, who monitored proceedings at the Georgia Dome, said.
Injury has limited the appearances of Leon Balogun in the last three seasons, having made 31 out of a possible 91 appearances for his teams in the German championship, excluding reserve team games.
