Iran winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh fancies Team Melli’s chances against African champions Nigeria when both continental powerhouses clash at the World Cup.
The 20 - year - old has predicted that the Asians will qualify for the last eight of the mundial for the first time in their history.
“I hope everything goes well for us in the 2014 World Cup. I also hope that I will have a good performance in the World Cup if I am a member of the team in the competitions.
“I am dreaming of beating Nigeria in the World Cup. I think we can defeat team 2-1 or 1-0 in the tournament.
“I think we can qualify for the last eight. It will be possible if we work hard,” Alireza Jahanbakhsh told Tasnim News Agency.
Nigeria will lock horns with Iran in their first group match on June 16 in Curitiba before squaring off with Bosnia Herzegovina and Argentina in that order.
