Stephen Keshi : Abiola Dauda Has To Make Himself Known
Published: March 29, 2014
Super Eagles gaffer Stephen Keshi has reacted to reports at home and abroad which suggested that Red Star Belgrade forward Abiola Dauda may dump the National Team and wear the yellow and blue colors of Sweden.
Last year, the 26 - year - old striker, who is managed by Swedish agent Patrick Mork, acquired a Swedish Passport after his sojourn in the country for about seven years.
Extremely popular with local football fans, the national team selectors continue to ignore Abiola Dauda despite netting an impressive 28 goals in his last 54 league matches for Kalmar and Red Star Belgrade.
“If he wants to play for Sweden, he can go ahead if that is what he wants. I don’t know Abiola Dauda. He has to make himself known if he wants to play for Nigeria.
“He should contact the Nigeria Federation or me. We are always on the lookout for fresh players to join the team and monitor Nigerian players in all the leagues in Europe
“Fegor was with Valerenga in Norway and we picked him. It is now left to Dauda to make up his mind, choose the national team he wants to represent and get in touch with us,” Stephen Keshi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Abiola Dauda can play for the national team of Sweden, having never worn the jersey of the Super Eagles in an A international.
