Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, FCT Chapter To Hold Green Carpet Night

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN, FCT Chapter will on the 10th of this month hold a “Green Carpet Night” as
part of activities marking the two year in office of its current Executive Committee.
The event which is in partnership with the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Matters and John Utaka Foundation, holds at WestPoint Hotel Abuja.
Activities heralding the event will commence on Monday 7th April with courtesy call on some Sports Federations. Director
General of the National Orientation Agency Mr. Mike Omeri is to deliver a paper on “Do The Right Thing-Keep Sports Alive” on Tuesday 8th April by 11am at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja.
After the paper by the DG NOA, the Director-General National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Ohii will take members on a workshop on “Pre-Cautionary Measures on Food and Drug Administration - Sports Perspective” by noon at the same venue.
On Wednesday 9th April, Pen Strikers will take on FCT Coaches in a top-flight friendly match at the Area 3, Play Ground, Garki, Abuja.
According to the Chairman Organizing Committee for the event, Ndubueze Chidoka, “We also hope to honour and appreciate some people who have assisted in moving sports forward in the country”.
“Our members who have remained steadfast in the course of taking sports to greater heights in the FCT will also be feted”.
