The 21 - year - old has flourished this season while on loan at Chippa United, having recorded 11 goals in 17 appearances and has netted in each of his last 6 games in the First Division.

Apart from the two - year deals that have both been offered by Ajax Cape Town and Chippa United, George Akpabio’s agent is in advanced negotiations with two unnamed Premier Soccer League teams.

George Akpabio is very interesting to suitors as he becomes a free agent in the summer, meaning the team that he pitches tent with will be signing a good player with experience in the South African championship for nothing.

It is now three years since he tested with Norwegians Lillestrom and Viking without being offered a contract.
