Dele Aiyenugba: Criticism Makes You A Better Person, I Do Not Blame Them
Published: April 08, 2014
Bnei Yehuda custodian Dele Aiyenugba is having his worst season since he became a professional, but he has picked up in the last three games played in the Israeli championship.
In those matches under review - against Ironi Kiryat Shmona, Hapoel Haifa and Beitar Jerusalem - the forgotten Nigeria international did not pick the ball from his own net.
The 30 - year - old goalkeeper has finally let the cat out of the bag and has revealed what he faced during those trying times.
“It was a very bad feeling. Never felt so in my life since I was a football game. But that’s life, you have to go through this once.
“I believe that criticism makes you a better person, a better athlete, so I do not blame them,” Dele Aiyenugba told one.co.il.
Earlier on, things were so bad that the Super Eagle was verbally attacked by the fans, with his blunders accounting for the club’s failure to win or draw matches.
“I do not blame anyone. These fans, they want to win, and they made me a better player. I will continue to work hard and continue to look toward my goal, which is to succeed with Bnei Yehuda,” he concluded.
Statistically, Dele Aiyenugba is the third worst goalkeeper in the Premier League this season having conceded 39 goals.
