Gloria Ofoegbu Hails Rivers Angels Attitude
Published: April 09, 2014
Emerging left-back Gloria Ofoegbu monitored match reports as the impressive Rivers Angels crushed Osun Babes 5-1 last weekend, to stay on top of the Nigeria Women Premier League table.
“From what I gathered it was one of our best performance in recent times, also taking into account the good run of the opposition,” the player currently in the Super Falcons camp in Abuja disclosed.
“We also did very well against Adamawa Queens and Confluence Queens, but I must praise the lads for dismissing Osun Babes in such an excellent way. 21
“We still need to improve on all departments and forge ahead in our approach to the game. We are modest but confident of ourselves.
On the upcoming international friendly match against the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon in Abuja, the player fondly called Daughter of Zion said: “The team is ready to reclaim its lost glory starting with making a statement against Cameroon in Abuja.”
“It is unfortunate we placed 4th in the 2012 edition of the African Women Championship held in Equatorial Guinea. We are gradually taking shape and winning is our utmost priority in the friendly match against Cameroon, the qualifier against Rwanda and the 2014 African Women Championship in Namibia later in the year.”
