Fit - again Marshal Johnson Targets Weekend Return
Published: April 10, 2014
Slovenia based central midfielder Marshal Johnson has targeted a return to action this weekend when ND Gorica travel to face table toppers Maribor in the 26th round of matches in the top division.
The 24 - year - old, a product of Flying Sport Academy, had been on the sidelines for close to a month after he suffered a hamstring injury during his debut against Zavrc.
But for the past one week, he has resumed full training under the guidance of manager Luigi Apolloni.
“I got injured on my debut and just returned to practice last week. I hope to be back this weekend, will travel with the squad to Maribor but it is the coach that decides who plays or not,” says Marshal Johnson to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Gorica currently occupy the fourth position in the championship and have qualified for the final of the Cup, and Johnson fancies the team’s chances of playing in the Europa League next season.
“Sure, we are looking forward to competing in Europe next season. We are only 8 points behind the leaders and we have qualified for the cup final too.
“So both ways, we have a chance of playing in the Europa League.”
Marshal Johnson penned an 18 - month contract with four - time Slovenian champions, Gorica in the January transfer window.
