As the Nigeria National League (NNL) season enters week 10 this weekend, Nigeria’s capital, Abuja will be set alight on Sunday when two Federal Capital Territory-based teams, Supreme Court and Prison FC will confront each other in their first derby showdown this season.
Both sides featuring at the division A of NNL have played nine matches so far this season but the Apex Boys as Supreme Court FC are fondly known is seeking to step up on the table standing.
Currently, the coach Henry Haggai tutored-Supreme Court squad have 12 points, six points away from table toppers while their opponents, Prisons FC are placed at the bottom of the log with eight points.
Ahead of the cracker slated for Old Parade Ground in Abuja, assistant Coach of the team, Joachim Ousji has remained optimistic that his boys’ recent performance last weekend against Spotlight FC will propel them to aim for better outing as the season progresses.
According to Coach Haggai “My players are improving with each game and we are taking the matches one after the other. We don’t see any team as minor. All we are committed to doing is getting the desired result as the season progresses.
“Our match against Prisons is a must win to enable us stay on course in our target to finish at the top. Despite the fact that two of our key players are nursing injury, we are still watching one of them who sustained injury while training on Thursday.
“We are also appealing to fans to come out en masses to cheer their team to victory and by the grace of God, we will come out victorious at the end of the day.”
