Emeka Ezeugo Rubbishes Reports He Was Clubless Before USA 1994
Published: April 15, 2014
Retired Nigeria international Emeka Ezeugo has moved quickly to rubbish reports in the blogosphere that claimed he did not have a club prior to the USA 1994 World Cup and made the Super Eagles roster as an inactive player.
“It is incorrect that I did not have a club before the tournament. I was on the books of Honved Budapest in Hungary. Stephen Keshi, Eguavoen and the rest of the players in the team all had clubs.
“Late Uche Okafor was the only player that did not have a team, ” says Emeka Ezeugo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Rightly call him a globetrotter during his playing career, the defensive midfielder represented teams in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Denmark, Hungary, Spain, Peru and Wales.
He was appointed manager of Glo Premier League newcomers Abia Warriors at the end of last year but stepped down before the start of this season.
