Newcastle United suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, losing 2 - 1 at home to Swansea City in their 35th game of the season.
Evergreen Nigeria international Shola Ameobi put the Magpies noses in front in the 23rd minute, his first strike in the topflight since December 2012.
Ivory Coast National Teamer Wilfried Bony netted a brace for Swansea City, with both goals coming at the tail end of each half to give the Welsh team all three points.
With 14 wins and 4 draws, Newcastle United occupy the 9th position in the standings while Swansea have climbed to 13th place.
