Exclusive : Izu Azuka Hints At Gaziantep BB Departure
Published: April 27, 2014
Nigeria international Izu Azuka has strongly hinted that he might depart Turkish First League outfit Gaziantep BB in the summer transfer market.
The 24 - year - old striker has stressed that he has failed to live up to his full potential since he arrived Turkey at the start of this season because he is not motivated playing in the second - tier.
In a chat with allnigeriasoccer.com after Sunday’s game against TKI Tavsanli Linyitspor, he said : “I have not really settled to life in Turkey because the second division is not the league I have in mind to play here.
“I have 9 goals this season and I would not want to say it has been a successful season or not but I hope to work harder to score more goals next season.”
His preferred destination is the Super League and he has claimed that several unnamed clubs have expressed interest in his signature.
“Sure there are teams monitoring my progress and hopefully I should be able to pen a deal with a Super Lig team soon,.” he concluded.
He comes off contract with Gaziantep BB at the end of the 2014 - 2015 campaign.
