Shola Shodiya Named In MFPA Team Of The Season

Birkirkara FC marksman Shola Shodiya is the only Nigerian player based in Malta that was selected in the ceremonial Team of the Season for the 2013 - 2014 campaign.
The 22- year - old had his breakthrough season in the Island season, notching up 14 goals in 30 matches as Birkirkara finished as vice - champions, one point below Valletta, who garnered 51 points.
At an award ceremony held at Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard on Monday, Shola Shodiya was selected to the lead the front-line alongside strike partner Jhonnattann Benitez and Edison Dos Santos of Hibernians.
The award which is organized by the Malta Football Players Association is in its third edition.
It is understood that Shodiya is negotiating a new contract with Birkirkara, who will represent Malta in the next edition of the Europa League.
