George White Agwuocha Eyes Exit From Strommen IF
Published: April 29, 2014
Former Nigeria Under 17 international George White Agwuocha has dropped a hint that he might be on his way out of Strømmen IF before the expiration of his contract in December 2015.
The 21 - year - old midfielder has claimed to be attracting interest from a couple of clubs in the Tippeligaen but his priority is to depart Norway for another team in Europe where is guaranteed better wages.
“This season, my main goal is to do well for my team, Strommen. I signed a new deal with the club before the start of this season but my contract stipulates I can leave if a suitor comes knocking on the door.
“Some clubs are monitoring me in Norway but I do not want to remain here. The financial situation is not favorable, the tax is heavy on me,” the former Sunshine Stars ace told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I have been in Norway for close to three years and there is nothing to show for it. I have no investment in Nigeria, I should have something to look up to when I quit playing.
“For now, my heart is with Strommen. Of course, I will keep doing well for the team until something better comes up.”
George White Agwuocha earns 28,000 Norwegian Krone (about 3,300 euros) every month at Strommen.
Around 40 percent of that figure is deducted from source as tax paid to Skatteetaten, and in addition he still pays tax on the accommodation his club rented for him.
