Agent Plays Down Reports Linking Mikel With Inter Milan
Published: April 29, 2014
John Shittu, England based agent of Super Eagles star Obi Mikel, has played down speculations linking his client with an exit from Chelsea this summer.
Due to the midfielder’s lack of first team opportunities since the start of this year, earlier information had strongly suggested that he will end his eight - year collaboration with the Blues after the mundial.
And Inter Milan were reportedly runaway favorites for his signature ahead of clubs in Spain, Turkey and Germany.
“It’s all part of the usual transfer speculation. As far as I’m concerned, nothing like that will be happening.
“It is only a rumour and we heard a similar story about him going to Galatasaray last season.
“Mikel is a fighter who wants to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea,” John Shittu told Daily Times.
The Nigeria international will miss the Champions League second leg semi - final showdown with Atletico Madrid as a result of accumulated yellow card offenses.
