Published: May 07, 2014
For the second year running, Standard Liege starlet Imoh Ezekiel has missed out the Ebony Shoe, an award for the best coloured player in the Belgian championship.
His strike partner at Standard Liege, Michy Batshuayi, has won the 23rd edition of the award ahead of Hamdi Harbaoui (Lokeren) and Paul José Mpoku (Standard Liege) in that order.
Past Nigerian winners of the award include Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Godwin Okpara and Celestine Babayaro.
20 - year - old Imoh Ezekiel has registered his name on the score-sheet 14 times in all competitions this season, including his brace against KR Reykjavick in the Europa League last July.
The former 36 Lion ace was strangely snubbed ahead of Uche Nwofor and Michael Uchebo when Nigeria manager Stephen Keshi named his preliminary World Cup squad list on Tuesday.
