Cologne Manager Commiserates With Anthony Ujah Over World Cup Snub
Published: May 08, 2014
Cologne manager Peter Stoeger has commiserated with his striker Anthony Ujah over his exclusion from the preliminary list of players nominated to grace the mundial this summer.
As they say one man’s meat is another man’s poison. It means the 23 - year - old must resume pre - season training with the rest of his teammates at the Billy Goats.
Before the start of this season, Anthony Ujah was given an extended vacation after representing the African champions at the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup.
“It would have been great if it had worked out. That he is not there, it’s a pity. The advantage is that Ujah would have been denied us at the start of preparation.
“I did not think one second about what that means to us, ”Peter Stoeger told ksta.de.
Despite the impressive goals record of the former Lillestrom hero for his clubs, he has failed to open his account for the Super Eagles.
