Gloria Ofoegbu Insists Falcons Are Prepared For Rwanda Test
Published: May 10, 2014
Rivers Angels fullback Gloria Ofoegbu says the Falcons are well prepared for the second round African Women’s Championship qualifier against Rwanda which is scheduled to take place in two weeks time.
Though the results have been far from impressive in their tune - up matches, losing 1-0 to the Nigeria Under 15s and managing a slim victory over Cameroon, Ofoegbu has stressed that the team will deliver in Kigali despite not having the lowdown of the opponents.
“We are fully prepared for Rwanda. Yes we lost against the Under 15s but they are men and we are women, our strength can not match theirs.
“In that game, we tried our best even if we did not score but we showed some quality which is good.
“And against Cameroon, we had a lot of chances but failed to convert them.
“I don’t know much about the Rwanda team and the quality of pitch they will take us to but we are prepared to face them,” Gloria Ofoegbu said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Nigeria are the most successful team in the African Women’s Championship, having won the tournament 8 times in the past but the Falcons have only one of the last three editions.
