Ikechukwu Uche On Target As Villarreal Thrash Rayo Vallecano

Villarreal thrashed Rayo Vallecano 4 - 0 in the penultimate round of games in La Liga to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the next edition of the Europa League.

In a move started by Giovani dos Santos, Nigeria forward Ikechukwu Uche opened scoring for the Yellow Submarine in the 22nd minute and before the break, Bruno added a second.

Ten minutes after the restart Jonathan Pereira scored a third while Jaume Costa completed the scoring in the 64th minute.

Not considered good enough by manager Stephen Keshi, Ikechukwu Uche has scored 13 goals in the championship this season.

Villarreal will participate in the Europa League next term if they win their final fixture against Real Sociedad while praying that their next opponents drop points away to Athletic Bilbao today.
