England FA licensed agent, Edward Afolabi, the representative of Birkirkara striker Shola Shodiya, has provided an update on the transfer situation of his client.
On the back of an outstanding season for Birkirkara, the 22 - year - old is on the wishlist of several teams this summer, and the interesting fact is that he is now a free agent, meaning suitors will not have to part with a penny to secure his signature.
“We are still in talks with Birkirkara over the extension of his contract.Valletta and four other clubs have shown serious interest on him.
“His priority is to progress in his career. Yes, there have been some enquiries from Portugal ..... but nothing concrete at the moment,” says Edward Afolabi to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Shola Shodiya notched up 29 goals in 79 Premier League appearances for Birkirkara.
He was named in the ceremonial Team of the Season at the end of the championship, and is one of the three candidates in the running for Player of the Season, an award sanctioned by the Malta Federation.
