Agent Blasts Keshi Over Omission Of Ejike Uzoenyi
Published: June 03, 2014
French agent Letrocquer Xavier, who brokered the deal that took Ejike Uzoenyi to Rennes, says he is surprised his client, whom he still represents, was omitted by Stephen Keshi when he announced his World Cup roster.
The petite winger is in the form of his life and was widely acknowledged to be the best player for the Super Eagles at their last exhibition match against Scotland at Craven Cottage.
“Sportively, I don’t why Ejike did not make the list. He had an excellent CHAN, was named best player. Has always been good for the national team.
“He has been part of the project since Stephen Keshi took over and started working with local players.
“For me, we both know how it works in Nigeria but reasons are extra sportive, it is business and friendly agreement,” Xavier told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation.
He added : “It is a joke Reuben made the list, seriously. I think the sum up in your website is close to reality! Same problem he had with Odemwingie. Keshi had a struggle with him through the press and took him!”
Even though he has agreed terms with Mamelodi Sundowns, Uzoenyi had wanted to use the World Cup to showcase his qualities as he nurses the ambition of playing for a top European club but that dream has gone up in flames.
