Stephen Keshi Explains Why He Omitted Sunday Mba
Published: June 03, 2014
Stephen Keshi has stated that African Cup of Nations revelation Sunday Mba did not show enough commitment and that contributed to his decision to axe him from the World Cup roster.
In addition, the CA Bastia midfielder only started training with the squad after the Scotland friendly because of a visa hitch.
“His lateness to camp contributed (to his missing out) but outside that he did not show the hunger, the fight, we expected for him.
“We have only two and half weeks to prepare for the World Cup and he was not giving us what we wanted. He was very relaxed and it was unlike him,” Keshi was quoted as saying by Fifa.com.
25 - year - old Sunday Mba has made 21 international appearances for the Super Eagles.
