Super Eagles Fail To Breach Greece Defense, Play Fourth Consecutive Draw
Published: June 04, 2014
Africa powerhouse Nigeria played a goalless draw with 2004 European champions Greece at PPL Park (Chester, Pennsylvania) in their fourth tune - up game ahead of the World Cup which begins in Brazil next week.
Just like the previous exhibition matches against Italy, Mexico and Scotland, the Super Eagles did not do enough to grab a win against their opponents.
Against a very organized Greek team, Nigeria were in the best physical condition but could not breach their goalkeeper.
Several times, Chelsea winger Victor Moses created scoring opportunities but that killer instinct from the attackers was absent.
Manager Stephen Keshi gave a clue to his starting lineup at the World Cup, handing a midfield role to Peter Odemwingie.
However, the former Bendel Insurance play-maker looked lost in his old position and had to be replaced in the second half.
The Super Eagles will play one more friendly game, against United States, before their encounter with Iran at the mundial.
