Published: June 06, 2014
The League Management Committee (LMC) has postponed the Glo Premier League fixture between Kano Pillars and Dolphins of Part Harcourt scheduled to take place on Saturday in Kano.
Ado Abdullahi Bayero, the Emir of Kano, passed away on Friday at the age of 83, and the authorities have decided that the game should take place at a later date in honour of the deceased traditional ruler.
“We are still in Kano but we should leave for Kaduna today. We’ll sleep in Kaduna, then, go back to Port Harcourt tomorrow.
“The match against Kano Pillars was supposed to hold tomorrow but the Emir died today. Our management has informed us that the game has been postponed.
’The verdict is from the LMC so they must have a good reason to postpone the match,” striker Ifeanyi Egwim told allnigeriasoccer.com.
In the race for the title, Dolphins of Port Harcourt sit sixth on the table with 27 points while Kano Pillars occupy the second position with 28 points.
Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Alli has confirmed that the players have not be summoned to camp.
